Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough into your desired pizza shape.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese

Spread the mozzarella and fontina evenly over the surface of the dough.

  4. 8

    Add Gorgonzola and Parmesan

Sprinkle crumbled gorgonzola cheese and grated parmesan on top of the mozzarella and fontina.

  5. 9

    Add Pepperoncini and Oregano

Scatter the chopped pepperoncini peppers and dried oregano over the cheese.

  6. 10

    Drizzle Olive Oil

Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the toppings for added flavor.

  7. 11

    Bake Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or a baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  8. 12

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, slice it into pieces, and serve hot.
