Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Donut Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
- 3
Fill the Donut Pan
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- 4
Bake the Donuts
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- 5
Prepare the Glaze
While the donuts cool, mix together the ingredients for the vanilla cream cheese icing.
- 6
Glaze the Donuts
Once the donuts are cooled, dip the tops into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Let them sit for a few minutes to set the glaze.
