Method
Chocolate Torte Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Eggs and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring gently to combine. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder into the mixture and fold gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
