Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling a cocktail glass or an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 1 oz of gin, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 1 oz of Campari.

Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup) to chill the mixture.

Stir the Cocktail
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
