Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Onions
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 30-40 minutes.
- 2
Add Flavor
Once the onions are caramelized, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 3
Form the Patties
While the onions are simmering, divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

- 5
Melt the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place 2 slices of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Place the cooked patties on the burger buns, top generously with the caramelized onion mixture, and serve immediately.
