Method
Smoothie Base
- 1
Prepare fruit
Peel the papaya, cut in half, remove seeds with a spoon and dice until you have about 2 cups packed. If not using pre-frozen banana, slice a ripe banana and place in freezer for at least 30 minutes beforehand to chill the smoothie without watering it down.

- 3
Sweeten and flavor
Add 1 tablespoon honey or agave, 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using) and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (if using) to the blender.
Add-ins & Texture
- 4
Add ice and seeds
Add 6 ice cubes and 1 teaspoon chia or hemp seeds (if using) to the blender. The ice will chill and thicken the smoothie; reduce quantity or omit if using fully frozen fruit.
- 5
Blend
Secure the blender lid and blend on high until smooth and creamy, about 45–90 seconds depending on blender strength. Stop and scrape down the sides once with a spatula if needed, then blend again until no large chunks remain.
- 6
Adjust consistency and flavor
Check the texture. If too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons milk at a time and blend briefly until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey/agave (½ tablespoon increments) or a squeeze more lime for brightness.
- 7
Serve
Pour the smoothie into two chilled glasses. Garnish with 2 mint leaves on each glass if desired and a light dusting of cinnamon. Serve immediately.
