Torte Preparation

Melt Chocolate and Butter
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly soft. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate.

Make the Coulis
In a small saucepan, combine the mixed berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the berries break down and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Puree the mixture using an immersion blender or standard blender, then strain if desired.

Serve
Slice the torte and serve with a drizzle of berry coulis on top. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
