Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Bread

Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf or rolls as desired.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove the bread from the oven, let it cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
