Fried Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Fried Chicken Sandwich Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, place the flour and season it with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge each piece in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess. Fry the chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the chicken is frying, toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under a broiler until golden.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise and hot sauce on the bottom bun. Place a piece of fried chicken on top, followed by a generous amount of coleslaw and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
