Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork Laulau
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the pork shoulder with Hawaiian sea salt. Wrap the pork in taro leaves and then in banana leaves. Place in a baking dish with a little water, cover with foil, and bake for 4-5 hours until tender.
- 2
Make Kalua Pig
Take the smoked pork and shred it with a fork. In a slow cooker, add the shredded pork and a bit of Hawaiian sea salt. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- 3
Prepare Lomi Lomi Salmon
Dice the tomatoes and green onions. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, and juice from the limes. Mix well and let sit for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- 4
Cook the Rice
Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions, typically using a 2:1 water to rice ratio.
- 5
Serve
On a plate, serve a portion of pork laulau, kalua pig, a scoop of lomi lomi salmon, jasmine rice, and poi. Enjoy!
