Ladyfingers

Method

Preparing Ladyfingers

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, mix the brewed coffee with coffee liqueur.

  3. 3

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.

Making Mascarpone Filling

  1. 4

    Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  2. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  3. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

  4. 7

    Incorporate Egg Yolks

In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale. Then, fold them into the mascarpone mixture.

  5. 8

    Layer the Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the soaked ladyfingers in the dish.

Assembling Tiramisu

  1. 9

    Add Another Layer

Repeat the process by soaking another layer of ladyfingers in the coffee mixture and placing it on top of the mascarpone filling.

  2. 10

    Top with Remaining Filling

Spread the remaining mascarpone filling over the second layer of ladyfingers.

  3. 11

    Chill the Dessert

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  4. 12

    Serve

Just before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy!
