Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Shrimp

Peel and devein the jumbo shrimp. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Topping

In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, lemon zest, and olive oil until evenly coated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Make the Lemon Butter Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until garlic is fragrant.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the cleaned shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 5

    Finish the Sauce

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Mix well to combine the flavors.

  4. 6

    Add Topping

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the breadcrumb mixture over the shrimp in the skillet. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.

Serving

    Plate and Serve

Remove the skillet from the oven. Serve the shrimp scampi hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
