Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steamer

In a large pot, fill with 4 quarts of water, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of salt, and add Old Bay seasoning. If using, place the crab boil bags in the pot.

  2. 2

    Bring to a Boil

Cover the pot and bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Steam the Crabs

Once the water is boiling, carefully place the live Maryland blue crabs into the pot. Make sure to layer them if necessary. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.

  4. 4

    Cooking Time

Steam the crabs for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn a vibrant orange color and are cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Carefully remove the crabs from the pot using tongs and serve hot with additional Old Bay seasoning on the side.
