Samba de Cuba Sandwich

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Loin

Season the pork loin with salt and black pepper. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork loin and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes on each side. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the fresh rolls in half. Spread ground mustard on the inside of each roll. Layer the sliced pork loin, smoked ham, dill pickles, and Swiss cheese evenly onto the bottom half of each roll.

  3. 3

    Grill the Sandwich

Close the sandwiches and place them in a grill press or a heavy skillet. Grill on medium heat until the cheese melts and the bread is crispy, about 3-5 minutes on each side.

  4. 4

    Prepare the French Fries

In a separate pot, heat oil for frying. Cut potatoes into wedges or strips, and fry them in batches until golden and crispy. Season with salt to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the Samba de Cuba sandwiches hot with a side of beer battered French fries.
