Toast the baguette
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the baguette lengthwise and place on a baking sheet. Lightly toast 3–4 minutes until warm and just crisp.

Prepare burrata and tomatoes
Gently drain burrata if needed. Slice heirloom tomatoes into ¼-inch (0.6 cm) thick slices.

Base preparation
Split the baguette and lightly brush both cut sides with a tablespoon of olive oil.

Layer burrata
Tear burrata into chunks and spread on the bottom half of the baguette.

Add tomatoes and basil
Layer tomato slices over the burrata and scatter basil leaves over the tomatoes.

Season and finish
Drizzle remaining olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and drizzle optional balsamic glaze if desired.

Serve
Close the baguette, slice into portions, and serve immediately.
