Directions
- 1
Prepare the Mint
Wash the fresh mint leaves thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel.
- 2
Juice the Lemons
Cut the fresh lemons in half and juice them using a lemon juicer or reamer. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
- 3
Make the Sugar Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, the cooled sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well to combine.
- 5
Add Mint and Chill
Add the washed mint leaves to the pitcher. Stir gently and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 6
Serve
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the mint lemonade over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices and additional mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.
