If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them well.

Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You may need to add more water to reach your desired consistency.

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, lemon juice, or jalapeno if desired.
