Method
Chicken Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
Add the boneless, skinless chicken thighs to the marinade and ensure they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for the best flavor.
Cooking the Chicken
- 2
Cook the Chicken
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off excess. Grill or bake the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Making Garlic Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Garlic Sauce
While the chicken is cooking, prepare the garlic sauce. In a small bowl, mince the garlic cloves and mix them with mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and water. Stir until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serving the Dish
- 4
Assemble and Serve
Slice the cooked chicken into strips. Serve warm in pita bread, topped with garlic sauce and pickled cucumbers. Enjoy your homemade Chicken Shawarma!
