Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Mix until the dough comes together. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Shape the Won-Tons

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into squares (about 3x3 inches). Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each square.

  2. 5

    Seal the Won-Tons

Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal, then bring the two corners together and pinch to form a pouch.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Boil the Won-Tons

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Gently drop in the won-tons and cook for about 4-5 minutes, until they float to the top and are cooked through.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, and sugar until well combined.
