Method
Shrimp Filling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Peel and devein the shrimp, removing tails and any shell. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.
- 2
Chop Ingredients
Finely chop the garlic and green onions, and place them in a mixing bowl with the shrimp.
- 3
Mix the Filling
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the shrimp mixture. Mix well until combined.
Kalbi Marinade Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- 5
Marinate the Ribs
Place the beef short ribs in a dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Wonton Assembly and Cooking
- 6
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the shrimp filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, and seal the edges by pressing down firmly.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 8
Fry the Wontons
Carefully place the filled wontons in the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
