Method

Preparing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Tea and Spices

Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves, the star anise, cardamom pods, and the cinnamon stick.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the tea to steep for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into a heatproof pitcher, discarding the solids.

  5. 5

    Sweeten the Tea

Stir in 4 tablespoons of sugar while the tea is still warm until fully dissolved.

Making the Iced Tea

  1. 6

    Chill the Tea

Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate it until well chilled, about 1 hour.

  2. 7

    Combine Creamy Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together 4 tablespoons of condensed milk and 1 cup of coconut milk until well combined.

  3. 8

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Add the creamy mixture on top and stir gently.

  4. 9

    Garnish and Enjoy

Optional: Garnish with a sprinkle of crushed cardamom or a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately and enjoy your Thai iced tea!
