Method

Prepare Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Make Teri Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir to mix.

  2. 5

    Thicken Sauce

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add this slurry to the saucepan and bring to a gentle boil, stirring until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Patties

  1. 6

    Heat Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.

  2. 7

    Cook Patties

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a nice sear.

Assemble Burgers

  1. 8

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Add a cooked patty on top, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, a slice of tomato, and a drizzle of Teri sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, then cover with the top half of the bun.
