Teriyaki Chicken

Miso Soup

Green Salad

Rice with Furikake

Method

Teriyaki Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sesame oil, mixing well until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Cook the chicken in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Chicken

Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting the chicken with the sauce until it thickens slightly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the teriyaki chicken and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Miso Soup

  1. 6

    Prepare the Dashi Stock

In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  2. 7

    Add Miso Paste

Once the stock is simmering, reduce the heat to low and whisk in the miso paste until fully dissolved.

  3. 8

    Add Tofu and Seaweed

Gently add the cubed tofu and dried seaweed to the pot. Allow to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Ladle the miso soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Green Salad

  1. 10

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, sliced cucumber, grated carrot, and cherry tomatoes.

  2. 11

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the Japanese sesame dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve the salad immediately as a refreshing side dish.

Rice with Furikake

  1. 13

    Prepare the Rice

Ensure the cooked rice is warm. Place it in a serving bowl.

  2. 14

    Add Furikake

Sprinkle the furikake seasoning over the rice and gently mix to combine.

  3. 15

    Serve

Serve the rice as a flavorful side dish alongside the teriyaki chicken.
