Method

Prepare the Burger

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, take the ground beef and form it into four equal-sized patties, about 1/2-inch thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon Bits

If using raw bacon, cook until crispy in a skillet over medium heat, then chop into bits. If using pre-packaged bacon bits, skip this step.

  2. 5

    Grill the Onions

In a separate skillet, sauté sliced onions over medium heat until they are golden brown and caramelized. This should take about 8-10 minutes.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Spread the Sauces

On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread a generous amount of BBQ sauce followed by a tablespoon of lilikoi mustard.

  2. 7

    Add the Patty

Place the cheese-topped patty on top of the sauces.

  3. 8

    Add Toppings

Top each burger with grilled onions and a sprinkle of bacon bits.

  4. 9

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on each burger to complete. Serve immediately.
