Chicken Katsu

Spicy Sauce

Method

Chicken Katsu

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, coating evenly. Dip into beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Spicy Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

Side Dishes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Rice

Cook the white rice according to package instructions and keep warm.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Cabbage

While the rice cooks, shred the cabbage and chop the green onions. Set aside for serving.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of steamed rice topped with the fried chicken katsu. Drizzle the spicy sauce over the chicken and garnish with shredded cabbage and chopped green onions.
