Clean the Clams
Rinse the clams under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells gently with a brush if necessary.

Prepare the Vegetables
Slice the red and green bell peppers into thin strips. Mince the garlic cloves.

Sauté Garlic and Peppers
In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the sliced bell peppers and cook until they are tender, about 4-5 minutes.

Add Sauces
Pour in the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and sprinkle the red chili flakes over the clams. Stir to coat the clams evenly with the sauce.

Cook the Clams
Cover the skillet with a lid and let the clams steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until they have all opened. Discard any clams that remain closed.

Finish with Basil
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the Thai basil leaves until wilted. Serve immediately.
