Shrimp and Vegetables

Spicy Citrus Sauce

Method

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prep the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber and red onion. Wash and tear the leaf lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Chop the Herbs

Finely chop the cilantro, mint, and Thai basil. Combine them in a bowl and set aside.

Make the Spicy Citrus Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, fish sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined. Set aside.

Cook the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Sauté Shrimp

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil if desired. Add the shrimp to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.

  2. 5

    Season Shrimp

Sprinkle the red chili flakes over the shrimp while cooking for added spice.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Components

On a large serving platter or individual plates, layer the torn leaf lettuce as a base. Top with the sautéed shrimp, sliced cucumbers, and red onions.

  2. 7

    Add Herbs and Sauce

Sprinkle the chopped herbs over the top of the salad. Drizzle the spicy citrus sauce over the entire dish to finish.
