Mushroom Skewers

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Skewers

Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.

  2. 2

    Clean the Mushrooms

Gently wipe the shiitake mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Trim the stems if necessary.

Marinade

  1. 3

    Make the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, lemon juice, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 4

    Marinate the Mushrooms

Add the cleaned shiitake mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

  2. 6

    Skewer the Mushrooms

Thread the marinated shiitake mushrooms onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each mushroom for even cooking.

  3. 7

    Grill the Skewers

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and have nice grill marks.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Remove the skewers from the grill and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
