Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the rib-eye steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is shimmering, add the rib-eye steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate.

Garlic Red Wine Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In the same skillet used for the steaks, add butter and melt over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Deglaze with Red Wine

Pour in the red wine and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Increase the heat to bring the wine to a simmer and let it reduce by half, about 5 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Broth and Thyme

Add the beef broth and fresh thyme to the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Sides Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Side Dish

Cook rice according to package instructions or fry potato slices until golden and crispy. Set aside.

  2. 7

    Make the Salad

In a bowl, combine mixed greens, drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, and toss gently to coat.

  3. 8

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a pan, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and mixed vegetables. Sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
