Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the rib-eye steak out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak on both sides with salt and black pepper, ensuring an even coating.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Sauteed Mushroom and Onion

  1. 4

    Saute the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the steak, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter, then add onions and sauté until translucent (about 3 minutes). Add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, and cook until the mushrooms are golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).

Choice of Sides

  1. 5

    Prepare Rice or Fried Potatoes

For rice, cook according to package instructions. For fried potatoes, heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the potato slices until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

Green Salad

  1. 6

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.

Garlic Sauteed Vegetables

  1. 7

    Cook the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add mixed vegetables and sauté until tender (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
