Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands or a spoon to mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty, tomato slices, and cheese (if using). Top with ketchup and mustard as desired, then place the top half of the bun over the assembled burger.
