Prepare the Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt in a pot.

Cook the Rice
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Brown the Pork
Add the diced pork shoulder to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

Combine Ingredients
Stir in the grated green bananas, yautía, tomato sauce, chicken broth, salt, black pepper, cilantro, and bay leaves. Mix well to combine.

Simmer the Stew
Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally until the pork is tender and flavors are combined.
Macaroni Salad

Cook the Macaroni
Boil a pot of salted water. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and let cool.

In a large bowl, combine the cooled macaroni, mayonnaise, grated carrot, green peas, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined and creamy.
