Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion and tomato into small pieces. If using meat, chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Whisk the Eggs

In a bowl, crack the eggs and add salt and black pepper. Whisk them until well combined.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Vegetables

In a non-stick skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the chopped tomato and cook for another 2 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add the Meat (Optional)

If using meat, add it to the skillet with the vegetables and cook until heated through.

  3. 5

    Add the Eggs

Pour the whisked eggs over the cooked vegetables and meat. Allow it to sit for about 1-2 minutes without stirring.

  4. 6

    Add Cheese

Once the edges start to set, sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top. Continue cooking until the eggs are fully set and the cheese is melted, about another 2-3 minutes.

  5. 7

    Toast or Cook Rice

While the omelet is cooking, toast the bread slices or prepare the rice according to package instructions.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Omelet

Slide the cooked omelet onto a plate, folding it in half if desired.

  2. 9

    Serve with Toast or Rice

Serve the omelet hot with toast or a side of cooked rice.
