Veggie Burger Patty Preparation

Prepare Flax Egg
In a small bowl, mix ground flaxseed with water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine cooked black beans, cooked quinoa, chopped bell pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mash the black beans slightly with a fork until they’re mostly smooth but still have some texture.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and form each part into a burger patty shape.

Cook Burgers
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add a little olive oil, and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
Garlic Aioli Preparation

Mix Aioli Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt to taste until smooth. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Burger Assembly

Toast Buns
If desired, lightly toast the Punalu'u sweet buns on a skillet or in the oven until golden.
