Saimin Soup

Method

Saimin Soup Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, mirin, and sliced ginger. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Noodles and Vegetables

Once the broth is boiling, add the saimin noodles and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender. Stir in the shiitake mushrooms and choy sum. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are just tender.

  3. 3

    Finish with Green Onions

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the chopped green onions. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

  4. 4

    Serve

Ladle the saimin soup into bowls and serve hot.

Nori Burger Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Burger Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, black pepper, and nori strips. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 6

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  3. 7

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness.

  4. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, and top with a slice of tomato. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  5. 9

    Serve

Serve the Nori Burgers alongside the saimin soup for a delicious combo.
