Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tofu
Drain the firm tofu and cut it into small cubes, about 1/2 inch in size. Set aside.
- 2
Soak the Seaweed
In a small bowl, soak the dried wakame in warm water for about 5-10 minutes until it expands. Once softened, drain and set aside.
- 3
Chop the Green Onion
Trim the roots from the green onions and slice them thinly on a diagonal. Set aside for garnish.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Broth
In a large pot, bring the dashi broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- 5
Add Miso Paste
Once the broth is simmering, reduce the heat to low and add the miso paste. Stir well until the miso is fully dissolved in the broth.
- 6
Incorporate Tofu and Seaweed
Carefully add the cubed tofu and soaked wakame to the pot. Allow the soup to heat through for about 3-5 minutes, being careful not to boil.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Ladle the soup into bowls and sprinkle the sliced green onions on top. Serve hot and enjoy!
