Burger Patties

Prepare the Patties
In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than the burger buns.

Cook the Bacon
In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger
On the bottom half of the bun, spread 2 tablespoons of Thousand Island dressing. Place one patty on top, followed by lettuce, grilled onions, and 2 slices of bacon. Add the second patty, then top with another tablespoon of dressing and place the top half of the bun.

Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips for fries.

Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

Drain and Season
Remove fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while hot.
