Method

Kalbi Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Ribs

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Add beef short ribs and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Grill the Ribs

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove ribs from marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes per side or until nicely charred and cooked through.

BBQ Pork Preparation

  1. 3

    Marinate the Pork

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and rice vinegar. Add pork shoulder to the marinade and let it sit for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  2. 4

    Cook the Pork

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the marinated pork in a roasting pan and cover with foil. Roast for 3-4 hours until tender, then shred and serve.

BBQ Chicken Preparation

  1. 5

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 2 hours.

  2. 6

    Grill the Chicken

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill chicken thighs for about 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked and juices run clear. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Kimchee Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Cabbage

Cut the napa cabbage into quarters and soak in salt water for 2 hours, then rinse and drain.

  2. 8

    Make the Kimchee Paste

In a bowl, mix Korean red pepper flakes, minced garlic, minced ginger, fish sauce, and chopped green onions to form a paste.

  3. 9

    Combine and Ferment

Massage the paste into the cabbage, ensuring even coverage. Pack into a jar and let it ferment at room temperature for 1-2 days before refrigerating.

Mundoo Preparation

  1. 10

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, and soy sauce until well combined.

  2. 11

    Fill the Dumplings

Take a dumpling wrapper, place about a tablespoon of filling in the center, wet the edges with water, and fold to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.

  3. 12

    Cook the Mundoo

Steam the dumplings for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked through. Alternatively, pan-fry them until golden brown on both sides.

Rice Preparation

  1. 13

    Cook the Rice

Rinse the short grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Salad Preparation

  1. 14

    Macaroni Salad

Cook macaroni according to package instructions. In a large bowl, combine cooked macaroni, mayonnaise, peas, and diced carrots. Chill before serving.

  2. 15

    Tossed Salad

In a large bowl, combine chopped lettuce, sliced cucumber, diced tomato, and any additional dressing of choice. Toss and serve fresh.
