Method

Prepare Hamburger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Buns

  1. 5

    Butter the Buns

While the patties are cooking, spread butter on the cut sides of the hamburger buns.

  2. 6

    Toast the Buns

Place the buns, buttered side down, on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until toasted.

Prepare the Sides

  1. 7

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and cut the potatoes into wedges or fries.

  2. 8

    Season and Bake

In a bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  3. 9

    Bake the Potatoes

Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble the Hamburger

  1. 10

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a cooked beef patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste.

  2. 11

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.
