Method

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, season the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and set aside for 10 minutes to let the flavors penetrate.

Prepare the Breading

  1. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, whisk the egg in the second bowl, and add the breadcrumbs to the third bowl.

  2. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

One by one, dip each shrimp into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off excess flour, then dip into the beaten egg, followed by coating with breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs gently onto the shrimp to ensure they adhere. Repeat with all shrimp.

Fry the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Tartar Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, lemon juice, and dill weed until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the golden fried shrimp hot, accompanied by the homemade tartar sauce on the side for dipping.
