Filling

For frying

Method

Preparation of the Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely shredded cabbage, grated carrot, bean sprouts, and chopped green onions.

  2. 2

    Add Flavorings

Add minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the vegetable mixture. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Set Aside

Set the filling mixture aside to let the flavors meld while you prepare the wrappers.

Assembling the Spring Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrapper

Lay a spring roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface, with one corner pointing towards you.

  2. 5

    Fill the Wrapper

Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the vegetable filling near the corner of the wrapper closest to you.

  3. 6

    Roll and Seal

Fold the corner over the filling, tuck it in tightly, and then fold in the sides. Continue rolling tightly until the spring roll is fully wrapped. Moisten the edge with a bit of water to seal.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Repeat the process for the remaining wrappers and filling.

Frying

  1. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  2. 9

    Fry the Spring Rolls

Carefully add the spring rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 10

    Drain and Cool

Use a slotted spoon to remove the spring rolls from the oil and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serving

  1. 11

    Serve Hot

Serve the fried vegetable spring rolls hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
