Method

Noodles Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Saimin Noodles

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Add the saimin noodles and cook according to package instructions, typically about 3-4 minutes, until just tender. Drain and set aside.

Kalbi Preparation

  1. 2

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Add the thinly sliced beef short ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

  2. 3

    Cook the Kalbi

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Remove the beef from the marinade and cook in the skillet in batches until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Vegetables & Noodles Stir-Frying

  1. 4

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add sliced bell pepper, julienned carrots, and shredded cabbage. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  2. 5

    Combine Noodles and Beef

Add the drained saimin noodles and cooked kalbi back into the skillet with the vegetables. Toss everything together to combine and heat through, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the top before serving.
