Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Once hot, place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread 1 tablespoon of ketchup and 1 tablespoon of mustard on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place one cooked patty on each bun, followed by pickles, sliced onion, tomato, and a leaf of lettuce. Top with the second patty, then cover with the top half of the bun.
