Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the rib eye steak with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides of the steak, ensuring even coverage. Add chopped fresh rosemary on top.

  2. 2

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your charcoal or gas grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned rib eye steak on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your preference, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Vegetable Curry Preparation

  1. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion, and sauté until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

  2. 6

    Add Garlic and Ginger

Add minced garlic and ginger to the onions. Sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 7

    Add Mixed Vegetables

Add the mixed vegetables to the pan. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes, until they are tender.

  4. 8

Add Coconut Milk and Curry Powder

Pour in the coconut milk and sprinkle curry powder over the mixture. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer. Season with salt to taste.

  5. 9

    Simmer

Allow the curry to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Rice Preparation

  1. 10

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 11

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 2 cups of water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. 12

    Simmer and Fluff

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
