Beef

Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparation of Beef

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

Sprinkle the beef sirloin with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Broil the Beef

Preheat the broiler in your oven. Place the seasoned beef on a broiling pan and broil for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Heat the saucepan over medium heat until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it slightly thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 5

    Steam the Vegetables

In a steamer basket or pot with a small amount of boiling water, add broccoli florets, sliced carrots, and bell pepper. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant in color.

Assembly and Garnishing

  1. 6

    Slice the Beef

After resting, slice the broiled beef sirloin thinly against the grain.

  2. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange a portion of the steamed vegetables and add the sliced beef on top. Drizzle the prepared teriyaki sauce generously over the beef and vegetables.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the dish for added flavor and presentation.
