Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to ensure even cooking and better absorption of the marinade.

  2. 2

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  3. 3

Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  1. 4

In a skillet or wok, heat a small amount of oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the beef from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off.

  2. 5

Add the beef strips to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the beef is browned and cooked through.

  3. 6

Reduce heat to medium-low. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add this to the skillet along with the remaining marinade.

  4. 7

Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef evenly.

  5. 8

Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
