Protein Choices

Vegetables (for grilling)

Method

Preparation of Protein

  1. 1

    Selecting Your Protein

Choose your preferred protein: Tofu, Chicken, Pork, or Beef. For Tofu, press it for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. For Chicken, Pork, or Beef, trim any excess fat.

  2. 2

    Marinating the Protein

Prepare the barbecue sauce by combining all ingredients in a bowl and whisking until smooth. Reserve half of the sauce for basting. Marinate the chosen protein in the remaining sauce for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

Grilling Vegetables

  1. 3

    Preparing Vegetables

Wash and cut the bell peppers into strips, slice the red onion into rings, and cut the zucchini into thick rounds. Toss them with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. 4

    Grilling the Vegetables

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the seasoned vegetables on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and have grill marks.

Grilling the Protein

  1. 5

    Grilling

Preheat the grill to medium heat. Remove the protein from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for the following times: Tofu - 5-7 minutes per side, Chicken - 6-8 minutes per side, Pork - 5-7 minutes per side, Beef - 4-6 minutes per side. Baste with reserved barbecue sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.

  2. 6

    Resting

Once cooked, remove the protein from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plating

Slice the grilled protein and serve on a platter with the grilled vegetables. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
