Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the rib eye steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill/Pan

Heat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 4

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and lemon juice until well combined. Set aside.

  2. 5

    Add Butter to Steak

After the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the heat and top it with the garlic butter. Let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Grilled Onions Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the medium yellow onion into thin rings. In a bowl, toss the onion rings with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Grill the Onions

Place the seasoned onion rings on the grill or in the skillet after cooking the steak. Grill for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until caramelized and tender.
