Pasta and Sausage

Condiments

Method

Cooking the Pasta and Sausage

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the shell pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and slice into rounds.

Preparing the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Char the Broccoli

In the same skillet, add olive oil and heat over medium-high. Add the broccoli florets and char for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly caramelized.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions and Tomatoes

Add the cipollini onions to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Then add the cherry tomatoes and cook until they burst, about 2-3 minutes.

Bringing it Together

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked pasta and sausage back into the skillet with the vegetables. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss everything together until well combined.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Top the pasta with soppressata, bread crumbs, and Pecorino Romano cheese. Serve warm.
