Smoked Turkey Breast

1000 Island Dressing

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Smoke the Turkey

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Rub the turkey breast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Turkey

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add wood chips. Place the turkey breast in the smoker and smoke for about 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove and let it rest before slicing.

Make 1000 Island Dressing

  1. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, red onion, and vinegar. Stir until well mixed and set aside.

Prepare Coleslaw

  1. 4

    Combine Coleslaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss until well combined and refrigerate until serving.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Build the Sandwich

On a slice of sourdough bread, layer sliced smoked turkey, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and top with another slice of bread. Repeat for the second sandwich.

  2. 6

    Toast the Sandwich

Toast the assembled sandwiches on a skillet or sandwich press until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
